Grand Theft Auto 2 is an open world, crime based action/adventure game developed by DMA Design (later to become known as Rockstar Games). It is the sequel to the original Grand Theft Auto (GTA) and the second release in the Grand Theft Auto series. There were no expansions or add-ons developed for GTA 2. This is a change from the original GTA which saw the release of two expansions.
The game play for GTA 2 is a top down, third person perspective. Grand Theft Auto 2 is played with the keyboard for controls. Arrow keys for movement and other keys for jump, fire and more. Grand Theft Auto 2 also allows interaction with various non-player characters and vehicles. In addition, it also includes seven rival gangs: the Yakuza, Scientists, Looneys, Rednecks, Zaibatsu, the Russian Mob and Hare Krishnas. Grand Theft Auto 2 introduced some new game play features to the GTA series. This included respect/loyalty and side quests/jobs.

There are two versions of GTA 2 that can be found online. One is the original game which runs on MS-DOS. This version requires a DOS emulator such as DOSBox. The other version of the GTA 2 download that can be found is one with a Windows installer that is compatible with modern versions of Windows such as Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7.
